Goals: Use AI as a helper while staying skeptical.
Topics:
– Using AI to explain complex news or technical topics in plain language while cross‑checking sources.
– Recognizing AI hallucinations and politely challenging the AI (“show sources,” “step by step,” “are there other views?”).
– Deepfakes and synthetic media: how fake images, audio, and video are created and common warning signs.
– Strategies for verifying claims: using multiple sources, checking dates, and seeking reputable organizations.
Activity: Compare an AI‑generated explanation of a news story with an article from a major outlet, and mark what matches, what differs, and what is missing.
